LETTER FROM THE BOARD
TO OUR COMMUNITIES OF SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA
FROM JOSHUA BRUNS, PRESIDENT OF SAFE NET
It is an honor to serve as President of SAFE Net and to stand with a board committed to protecting the people of Southwest Louisiana from scams, fraud, and online exploitation.
Every day, scammers target families, seniors, students, churches, small businesses, and hardworking residents through text messages, phone calls, fake websites, social media, payment apps, and emails that look official. These crimes create more than financial loss. They create fear, confusion, shame, and isolation.
SAFE Net exists because our community deserves a trusted place to report suspicious activity, receive practical guidance, and learn how to recognize the warning signs before harm spreads.
- WE EDUCATE RESIDENTS SO THEY CAN PAUSE, VERIFY, AND PROTECT THEMSELVES.
- WE SUPPORT VICTIMS WITH CALM, PRACTICAL, NONJUDGMENTAL NEXT STEPS.
- WE ORGANIZE SCAM INFORMATION SO OUR COMMUNITY CAN RESPOND FASTER AND SMARTER.
This mission cannot be carried by one organization alone. It takes neighbors, businesses, churches, schools, civic groups, public servants, and volunteers choosing to look out for one another.
I ask every resident of Southwest Louisiana to help us build a safer community. Share warnings. Report suspicious activity. Support prevention education. Check on the people around you. When we act together, we make it harder for scammers to succeed.
With your support, SAFE Net will continue working to protect our neighbors, strengthen public awareness, and help victims move forward with dignity.
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW.
Report suspicious activity, support scam prevention, volunteer with SAFE Net, or help fund public education across Southwest Louisiana.
